Hurricane Relief

The WELS Christian Aid and Relief is sending money and manpower to help those affected by the hurricanes in Texas and Florida. For more information on their work, please visit the Christian Aid and Relief website. You can donate online at wels.net/giving. You may also send a check earmarked for WELS Christian Aid and Relief Hurricane Harvey/Irma to WELS Center for Mission and Ministry, N16W23377 Stone Ridge Dr., Waukesha, WI 53188. Please do not call the churches directly because they have all they can handle assisting their members at this time.

May God bless our efforts. May he use natural disasters such as these to remind us to keep our focus on him and not on our earthly possessions. Earthly possessions wear out and can be destroyed. God's love for us in Christ lasts forever.

Another Summer, More Construction

This summer, highway 22 between highway 141 and Oconto Falls will be under construction. There are two ways to get into town. One would be to take County I from Stiles on 141 into town. This will be open all summer. The official detour is taking County A in Lena west to County I south. In mid-July, the detour will take County A all the way to County B south in Spruce. The project is scheduled to be completed by mid-August. Hopefully this will be the last summer of new directions!

Update 5/26: The project is running ahead of schedule so on the 30th the detour will be moved to County B. If they stay on this schedule the project will be done by mid-July.

Interactive Faith Online Bible Study: Marriage

Pastor Randy Hunter will be leading a four-week online Bible study entitled "Mysterious Marriage." Here's how the course is described:
This study will examine how the gospel gives you the power to be married and how marriage gives you a way to show the gospel.
The study will be streamed on Wednesdays at 6:00 P.M. and 8:00 P.M. central time between February 1 and 22. Check it out at wels.net/interactivefaith

Also on that site you can watch past studies, including ones on Luther's Small Catechism and the book of Jonah.
